Villa Estrella is a horror-drama film produced by Star Cinema for its 16th anniversary offering, it is released in over 100 theaters on July 1, 2009 with an international screening in San Francisco, CA on July 10-16. This is Director Rico Maria Ilarde's first movie project with Star Cinema, and as a fan of Horror films, he is very honored that the Philippine's leading movie producer had given him a chance to direct "Villa Estrella". According to him, the main idea to scare the audience with this film is to give them characters that they can see their self with. “I feel that in order to scare the audiences you have to give them characters that they can root for. You have to get the sympathy of the people on these characters, then you put these characters in a sort of dangerous or scary situation. Those are the important little things that make up the whole of the film. I also believe in the natural acting to make every scene look real.” He also stressed that one of the scene that people should see in this movie is the "underwater scene" with Shaina and Maja. He said that for them to be able to accomplished this scene, they needed both Magdayao and Salvador took a three days underwater training in Danarra Hotel. and actual shoot was done in a pool in Pansol Hot Springs from 7pm to 5am the next day [2] [3]. Although getting positive reviews from the movie critics and from the movie goers, Villa Estrella still failed to grab the Box Office.

My Only You

My Only You

My Only U is a romantic-comedy film starring Vhong Navarro and Toni Gonzaga. Vhong and Toni had been paired up once before, in another romatic-comedy film D' Anothers. Winona (Toni Gonzaga) is burdened by a family curse --every woman in her family dies before the age of 25. She accepts this and focuses instead on taking care of her blind father (Dennis Padilla), refusing to go into any kind of relationship as she is sure that she wouldn't live till she reached her 25th year of age. On the other hand, Bong (Vhong Navarro), the compound's manager and Winona's best friend, has been in love with Winona ever since. Because of that love, he tries to do everything to save Winona from her curse. The film starts two days before Winona's 25th birthday. From the beginning and the flashbacks, it is noticed that Winona appears to have fully accepted her fate, even going as far as threating to kill herself when the people she lived with in the compound, with the leadership of Bong, lock her up in her apartment to prevent harm from falling upon her. In the day before her birthday, Bong attempts to make the most out of it, showing just how dedicated and in love he is to her, completely diregarding the inevitable pain from the loss of a loved one. A few hours before her 25th year, Bong arranges a party in the compound, a countdown to her death. And, as the clock hits the 12th hour, Winona survives. Once the joy and shock of living beyond her 25 year deadline leaves, she begins to change --she now wants to begin living her life. But, the missing diagnosis of Winona's health arrives. Bong opens it and finds Winona has lupus and that she is about to die, again. My Only U plays around the question, 'What would you do if the life of the person you love is on a time limit?' It centers around death --albeit, in a light and comedic way, but at the same time touching on the hurts and realities that center around that one constant in human life.

Action star Robin Padilla and Comedy Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas are paired together in a romantic comedy-musical titled Ikaw Pa Rin, Bongga Ka Boy! The working title of the movie is actually Ikaw Pa Rin but upon the suggestion of Viva chairman Vic del Rosario Jr., the sub-title Bongga Ka Boy! was added so that the public would know that this is a comedy. From the story and screenplay of Mel Mendoza-del Rosario, Ikaw Pa Rin: Bongga Ka Boy! tells the story of a veterinarian named Baby (Ai-Ai) who bumps into a heroic fireman named Boy (Robin). In the movie, Ai-Ai's character is unlucky in love. Her ex-boyfriend proved to be a freeloader who just wanted to avail of Baby's expertise for his pets and the pets of his other family members. Boy is just as unlucky since his former girlfriend, the mother of his son (played by Little Big Star winner Rhap Salazar), left him for a foreigner. The fireman is now a single father who worries about how his son will turn out since he seems to be absorbing his grandmother's feminine traits and his aunt's dishonesty. But the community looks up to Boy since he always comes to his neighbors' rescue, whether their problems are big or small. During his own time of need, Boy gets to meet Baby and in his gratitude, he promises to grant any wish that Baby asks of him. During the town fiesta, Baby announces that her one wish is to have a child of her own—with Boy as the father. The fireman thinks she's just kidding. But Baby is dead serious, her biological clock is ticking. Will Boy keep his promise to Baby? Will this lead to a more serious relationship between them or will they continue to be unlucky in love?
